Hey Chicago Southsiders,
The media industry is in another reset.
Last month, The Washington Post cut more than 300 positions as part of a restructuring, according to reporting by The New York Times.
Here in Chicago, WGN-TV also announced layoffs impacting reporters and anchors, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
At the same time, Mustafa Suleyman, chief executive of Microsoft’s AI division, said in an interview with the Financial Times that he expects artificial intelligence to automate most white-collar tasks — potentially within the next 12 to 18 months.
This is the environment we’re operating in.
